Smith Lake-
The Alabama Bass Federation  Inc, final Qualifying Tournament was held at Lewis Smith Lake  on Saturday September 10, 2011 in which Goldenrod's  very own Tour Event contender, Jackie Price , secured a top twenty five  finish with a three fish sack weighing 3.72 pounds.With Price firmly cemented in 6th place in the Angler of the Year Standings, October's  State Championship Tournament at Guntersville will surely be one to watch as our hometown favorite attempts to bring home the title.
Congratulations  to Jackie Price on a remarkable year and much continued success .

  Goldenrod Bassmasters' Six Man Team huddled inside the Pell City Civic Center  as the welcomed sound of rain blanketed the area. With the pairings and official tournament business some  fifteen minutes into history, the stage was now set for the Lake Logan Martin Qualifier hosted by the Alabama Bass Federation.
The "Six Man Team", lead by reigning Angler of the Year Richard Johnson, included Jackie Price, contenders Bryan Butler, Darryl Witherspoon, Louis Summerville, and Eddie Hill were greeted with high temperatures as the first of four boat flights blasted off .

At the end of the day it was current Tour Event leader Jackie Price with a 5 fish limit weighing 12.58 capturing sixth place.Richard Johnson placed 25th with 9.60 pounds, Eddie Hill placed 40th with 7.99 pounds, Darryl Witherspoon placed 86th 3.06 pounds, Bryan Butler placed 89th with 2.66 pounds and Louis Summerville placed 96th. Goldenrods amassed a team total of 35.79 pounds for a great showing.All six anglers are official qualifiers for the State Championship Tournament in September at Lake Guntersville.

Great job and congratulations to the Six. We want to turn our attention to Jackie Price and his quest to capture the AOY and a spot on the State Team this September at Lake Guntersville.

   Congratulations to Jackie Price and Darryl Witherspoon for a strong showing on Saturday April 2, 2011  at the Second Qualifier of  the Alabama Bass Federation Tournament held on Lake Martin. Jackie and Darryl had five fish limits weighing 5.92 and 4.45 respectively. Jackie Price (Demopolis) and Darryl(Lake Martin) are qualifers for the 2011 State Championship Tournament at Lake Guntersville this October.

We salute Jackie and Darryl for a job well done and offer best wishes for continued success.

April 24 2011- Lincoln, Alabama.

 After battling a tough bite at Guntersville a week prior, Jeff Bobb Sr., knowing his perceptions were not a reality, donned his Goldenrods Bassmasters' jersey and set out to rewrite his recent history. Teaming up with Jackie Price, the pair won the  VAE Nortrak  Company Annual Bass Tournament held on Lake Logan Martin. Bobb Sr. and Price's winning weight of 13.78 pounds (tournament big fish 4.58) sealed the deal. The win, was Jeff Bobb's second (2009 Richard Johnson) at the company's tournament.

For Jeff Bobb Sr., the victory is a momentum and confidence builder- two essentials critical on the Tour. The ability to overcome and have a short memory of past events combined with confidence were keys to victory.

Webster's New World Dictionary defines welcome as-gladly received or freely permitted. Saturday, March 19 put definition and action onto center stage as Goldenrod Bassmasters welcomed Mr. Henry L. Perkins to the club. Although his inaugural Tour Event had a few miscues with his boat, Mr. Perkins' positive attitude and easy going countenance exemplifiedwhat the men of this club are all about.

    His demean0r and cheerfulness did not represent  that of a first day angler rather  it represented everything Goldenrods Bassmaster and its members are all about.We gladly welcome  Mr. Perkins because he is a model club member and his presence will only lift Goldenrods higher.

Demopolis, Alabama-

  Something was a "buzz" in Demopolis on Saturday March 5, 2011. Goldenrod A.O.Y. contender Jackie Price "buzzed " his way to a  second place finish at the first of four Alabama Bass Federation Qualifiers held on Lake Demopolis.

   Price, facing heavy down pours, limited visibility, and wind gust  of 25-30 miles per hour, put together a four (4) fish bag for 14.66 pounds including a whopper big fish weighing 5.54 pounds.

  Pastor Price observed the bass short striking on a 1/4 oz buzzbait and immediately opted for the 1/2 oz buzz bait. The switch proved to be a great decision vaulting him to a second place finish.

  Congradulations are also in order to Louis Summerville for a great showing at Lake Demopolis. Louis managed to bring 2.52 pounds to the scales.

  Great job men and continued success throughout the season!
